Capitol Police officers’ testimony is historic
Re “‘This is how I’m going to die’: Officers tell Jan. 6 stories” (July 27): Tuesday we, and much of the world I expect, watched four heroic peace officers, Harry Dunn, Daniel Hodges, Aquilino Gomell and Michael Fanone deliver electrifying testimonies about their combat duty during the terrorist attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6. All four officers distinguished themselves with selfless honor to their oaths of office.
History will record what each had to say. Their resounding eloquence filled the hall and was completely believable. At the final reckoning, their words might possibly have carried this most important day for democracy. This, despite persistent ill-founded, illegal efforts by anti-American rebels in our midst, to bring Democracy down by any means.
