Farfus, Vernay, Chilton and Filippi confirmed for Hyundai ETCR campaign

Hyundai Motorsport has confirmed its four-car line-up for the inaugural PURE ETCR season, with Augusto Farfus, Jean-Karl Vernay, Tom Chilton and John Filippi getting behind the wheel of the Hyundai Veloster N ETCR.
“Racing in PURE ETCR is the natural next step for the project, and in the four drivers we have for the season ahead I believe we have a line-up in which everyone is capable of racing for victory on every weekend,” said Hyundai Motorsport team principal Andrea Adamo.
“So far we have risen to, and beaten, every challenge that has presented itself in the process of building and developing the car. Competition is just the latest of these. I look forward to the start of the racing season and seeing our four drivers in action.”
Niels Langeveld to race SLR Hyundai Elantra in new European programme

Niels Langeveld will make a return to touring car competition in 2021 after being named as part of the Sebastien Loeb Racing line-up for a new TCR Europe programme.
The former WTCR racer will drive one of four new Hyundai Elantra N TCRs being entered into the series by the French team, with the new campaign kicking off in Slovakia next month.
Having dropped out of WTCR last year, Langeveld raced in ADAC GT Masters but said he was delighted to be back in tin-tops for the season ahead.
Hyundai confirms Elantra switch for 2021 WTCR season

Hyundai has confirmed that its two customer teams will switch to the all-new Elantra TCR for the 2021 World Touring Car Cup season.
The move comes after three years running the i30 N TCR – the car that won the title in both 2018 and 2019 with Gabriele Tarquini and Norbert Michelisz – with the Elantra set to make its debut on the world stage on the fearsome Nürburgring Nordschleife in June.
The car has so far only been seen in competition in the United States, where it is competing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

Galáš, Cheah, Maxson and Gonzalez selected for Hyundai junior programme

Jáchym Galáš, Mitchell Cheah, Tyler Maxson and Tyler Gonzalez have been selected for the 2021 Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing Junior Drivers programme.
“The commitment to nurture young driving talent is a vital part of the Customer Racing department, and Hyundai Motorsport in general,” said Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing operations leader Andrew Johns.
“Through the Customer Racing Junior Driver initiative we can support some of the best young drivers competing with Hyundai customers in major rally and TCR championships around the world.
“By working closely with them and their teams we can help each one constantly improve, in order to get the best possible results and build their professional motorsport careers towards a place in the WRC or on the FIA WTCR grid.”
