Sonier has been a member of the Hillsborough School District faculty for eight years. She created Bitmoji classrooms and interactive libraries as a way to engage virtual students this past year, according to a proclamation presented by the Hillsborough Township Committee on May 25. She was a volunteer liaison for the Sunnymead Home and School Association for one year and a Hillsborough Education Association representative for several years, according to the statement. ....
Hillsborough Township Public Schools prepare to welcome back students for more in-person instruction More in-person instruction for students in the Hillsborough Township Public School District is on the horizon. On April 19, the school district will welcome back fifth and sixth graders, middle school students and high schoolers into the classroom for four days of half-day in-person instruction. According to Superintendent of Schools Lisa Antunes, around 660 fifth and sixth graders are expected to partake in the new phase-in plan the school district is providing two weeks after students return from spring break, while approximately 1,780 students in grades 7-12 will come back to the classroom for more in-person instruction. ....
Hillsborough superintendent addresses COVID-related issues within the school district Students in the Hillsborough Township Public Schools who have an Individualized Education Program or who are taking English as a Second Language will have the opportunity to access more in-person instruction for the rest of the school year. According to Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lisa Antunes, the school district is currently discussing a plan to accommodate those student populations to have four days of in-person instruction once they feel the schools are safe to do so. The school district has been offering four days of in-person instruction to severely disabled students this school year, Antunes said. ....
