54 objections have already been lodged against applicant Greenwoods Central Bedfordshire Ltd s proposals for up to 3,850 homes, which would border Higham Road and the A6 roundabout.
The development is also situated within the Wrest Park conservation area.
A design and access statement prepared by architects GSS Architecture stated: The application seeks to create a sustainable new community between Bedford and Luton, off the A6, incorporating a retirement community, school, retail, employment, new publicly accessible woodland and a solar park. The proposal will supply a range of residential accommodation by providing a mix of new housing, accommodation for later living and opportunities for self-build and small to medium sized enterprises.
About George Bridges George James Bridges was born on March 6, 1892 in Chelsea, London where his father had been working as a policeman. His father was Chesham born-and-bred John Bridges, and his mother was Lucy Mary Ryder Warrell, who hailed from Chenies. The family moved back to Chesham in the early 1900s, residing at 153 Waterside close to his paternal grandparents. George had an older brother, John Henry who also became a policeman. After he left school, George was taught to drive by a local doctor, in return for washing up medicine bottles. In those days there were few people in Chesham who could drive, and he worked as a chauffeur. George was the first driver to be employed by Chesham Post Office.

Hundreds of residents feel they have had the wool pulled over their eyes over major plans to improve road and rail links.
A booklet sent out in mid-December shows a road connecting slip roads as part the Wainscott bypass improvements to support a massive housing scheme on the Hoo Peninsula.

But in a 64-page consultation document published online, it shows as an overbridge which they say would overshadow homes in Wainscott and disrupt their lives.
Homeowners and protestors describe the flyover as a monstrosity which would cause unnecessary noise, pollution and be used as a rat run.
