HORTONVILLE, Wis. (NBC 26) Todd Timm expects to gain nearly 50 new students in his school district every year for the next decade.
But with only six buildings, the Hortonville superintendent says there isn t enough space for more kids. The Hortonville Area School District is one of the fastest growing school districts in the State of Wisconsin, Timm said.
HORTONVILLE - Electors of the Hortonville Area School District resoundingly supported a $41.8 million referendum for a host of facility upgrades at the middle and high schools.
That support didn t extend to both of the district s referendum questions, though. Voters narrowly rejected the second question, which asked for the authority to borrow $12.2 million for the construction of a multipurpose center at the high school.
According to unofficial election results on Tuesday, the yes votes for the first question were 3,261 (65%), while no votes were 1,779 (35%). For the second question, 2,419 (48%) voted in favor, while 2,611 (52%) voted against.
The results gave District Administrator Todd Timm mixed emotions. On one hand, he says he s disappointed the second referendum question didn t pass. On the other hand, Timm said, he s grateful for the high voter turnout and the overwhelming support for the first referendum question.

The automotive sector has its own Information Sharing & Analysis Center (ISAC). So do the aviation and maritime industries. They all represent forms of transportation, but no one would say they all face the exact same cyber threat scenarios.
So why have K-12 schools traditionally been lumped in with the public sector and higher education when it comes to ISAC activity? Local education districts have their own distinct challenges as they strive to protect themselves against digital threats. It only makes sense that they have an ISAC of their own.
