Share Hillsboro Woman Dies In I-35 Crash A crash on Interstate 35 claimed the life of a Hillsboro woman and injured an Itasca police officer Saturday morning, May 8. According to Department of Public Safety (DPS) reports, the crash occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. near mile marker 9 in Itasca, while an Itasca police officer was conducting a traffic stop. Reports indicated that the officer was inside a patrol car when a GMC Acadia traveling northbound drove onto the shoulder and crashed into the vehicle. The impact caused the officer s vehicle to be pushed forward and crash into a Hyundai Tucson. The driver of the GMC, identified as Lizzie Jackson, 72, of Hillsboro, was pronounced dead at the scene.
