WADDINGTON The family of Edward C. Kahrs Sr., age 70, of French Rd. are deeply saddened to report his passing, after a lengthy illness on Friday May 14, 2021 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home, Waddington.
Ed was born to the late Charles and Dorothy (O’Brien) Kahrs in Brooklyn, NY on November 12, 1950.
He attended school in Long Island and later was enlisted into the United States Navy and served his country proudly during the Vietnam Conflict. Upon his return he met the love of his life Barbara Valenta in 1972. On April 28, 1973, they were joined in marriage in Patchogue, NY on Long Island. They moved shortly thereafter to the North Country.

MassDOT taking over public outreach for Northampton roundabout project

NORTHAMPTON A total of 579 pages of comments were submitted about a controversial roundabout project through a state public comment period that was officially open for about two weeks before the state called it off early.
Those letters are now available to the public as part of a new Massachusetts Department of Transportation public information platform about the project.
