JOHOR BARU: Two company directors have been slapped with two charges at the Sessions Court here with using fake halal logo on the company s vehicles.
The accused, Rahman Sheikh Abdullah, 44 and his wife Raihanah Kasim, 42, pleaded not guilty to the charges in front of Sessions Judge Mohamad Haidar Abdul Aziz here on Wednesday (Dec 30).
According to the charge sheet, the company, Raihanah Cold Storage Sdn Bhd was charged with allegedly using the halal logo without the relevant authorities’ approval on its lorry.
The offence was allegedly committed at the company’s premises along Jalan Perniagaan Setia 6 in Taman Perniagaan Setia here at around 1pm on Dec 1.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 24 Halal-certified bakeries are not prohibited from taking orders meant for non-Islamic religious celebration provided that the products are not displayed in the premises, minister Datuk Zulkifli Mohamad clarified today.
Responding to a report over a shop that allegedly refused a customer’s order to have a cake decorated with the wish “Merry Christmas”, the minister in charge of religious affairs said such a message is allowed contrary to the report provided that it is not for display.
