Beer, wine to-go sales returning to Cotuit

Bronwen Howells Walsh HYANNIS Barnstable Licensing Authority on Monday reluctantly approved transferring a beer and wine license from Hyannis now-closed Cost Plus World Market back to Cotuit. Steven Gould, who owned Cotuit Grocery Co. from 1987 to 2009, said he plans to offer to-go beer and wine sales in a stand-alone section of the Cotuit Fresh Market building with its own entrance and exit and a separate check-out register. It will be connected to The Coop, but alcohol may only be purchased on the beer and wine side, where it will be bagged. Since Gould sold the store s beer and wine license in 2009, the nearest location for buying beer and wine is three miles away at Cotuit Liquors in Marstons Mills, said Hyannis attorney David Lawler.

Art Auctions Will Support Cape Cod Arts Relief Fund

As the region’s creative economy slowly starts to recover from the pandemic, the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod will be helping to expedite the process with two auctions to support the Cape Cod Arts Relief Fund. The foundation’s live auction, Prelude to Summer, will be held on Thursday, June 17, at 5 PM at the Hyannisport Club. The event will also be livestreamed on the auction platform Bidsquare. The public will have the chance to bid on artwork created by Cape Cod artists, as well as on experiences including the chance to have musician G. Love give a concert in the high bidder’s back yard or a pair of tickets to Fashion Week in New York City.
