Nearly 240,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been in administered in Ventura County as of Wednesday, according to the latest public health update.
The county has administered 5,861 vaccine doses since Monday, bringing the total doses up to 239,620. The total includes 168,630 first doses and 70,990 second doses, which are required for peak immunity.
County Executive Officer Mike Powers said a small shipment of vaccines manufactured by Johnson & Johnson arrived this week, offering a third vaccination option. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine only requires one dose to be administered. Residents who qualify for vaccinations will be able to see which vaccine will be offered at each appointment.
