City of Bastrop water customers in Zone 2 those east of Texas 95 and southeast of Texas 71 and MLK Drive should expect to have water service restored Friday night, Mayor Connie Schroeder told the Advertiser.
Residents in Zone 2 have been without water since Thursday morning due to a strategic decision by public works officials and city management to take the zone offline as demand for water was exceeding supply. Zone 1 includes the Central Business District and Zone 3 houses the hospital, so officials cut service in Zone 2 to keep the other zones with service, Schroeder said.
Customers in Zone 2 should have their water service restored around 8 p.m Friday but service may be intermittent over the next 24 hours. “We are asking all water customers to reduce their water usage as we work to bring service back online,” the city said.
