Police were called to the 200 block of Strauss Street around 9:30 p.m. According to detectives, a group of people were outside for an outing when a vehicle drove by and began shooting. A 25-year-old Amherst woman was shot.

Felonies The following people were booked into the Lee County-Tupelo Adult Jail in connection with felony charges ending Friday at 11 a.m. Catherine Carter, 55, of Tupelo, was arrested by the Tupelo Police Department, burglary of a dwelling. Ryan Davis, 34, of Saltillo, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff s Office, burglary of an auto. Karie Jean Slaughter, 51, of Nettleton, was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff s Office, possession of methamphetamine.
