Columbia College nursing scholarship honors student Nadria Wright


Nadria Wright would have been 20 on Tuesday. 
The Columbia College student s life ended on Sept. 13, 2019, when she was a passenger in a car, killed by a gunshot intended for the driver. She was the seventh person killed by gun violence in Columbia in 2019.
She was 18 and a freshman nursing student at Columbia College.
She had been a member of the Blue Thunder Track Club and played saxophone in the Battle High School band. She traveled to China to study at Shanghai University with Columbia Public Schools and the Confucius Institute.
Now, a group of organizations has formed to launch the Nadria Leeann Wright Memorial Nursing Scholarship. ....

The Relevant Youth, a Missouri student-run not-for-profit, receives funding

The Relevant Youth is a student-run creative agency in Columbia, designed to equip students with the skills and experience they need for careers in marketing and advertising industries. All its work for clients is pro-bono  no cost  and students aren t paid. He compared his effort to a car that s out of fuel.
Granberry made his presentation during a section of the REDI meeting agenda labeled Equality through Economic Opportunity.
REDI Chairman Matt Jenne said it was an initiative he and REDI President Stacey Button had worked on. He mentioned the Sharp End, the downtown section of Black-owned businesses that was eliminated by urban renewal. ....
