A TEENAGER who suffers from a rare genetic condition, is gearing up to conquer Wales’ highest mountain – and she needs your help. Seventeen-year-old Melissa Grace was born with Angelman Syndrome, which is a condition that affects the nervous system, causing severe physical and learning difficulties for one in every 12,000-20,000 babies born each year. The youngster struggles with her balance and movement and has leg splints helping to align her limbs and prevent any joint and knee pain as well as degeneration. On Sunday, July 25, Melissa will celebrate her 18th birthday by climbing Mount Snowdon thanks to the help of the Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF) and Conquer Hiking and Trekking.
