With 52 days until California voters decide whether to keep Gov. Gavin Newsom in office or replace him, Kevin Kiley, a Republican legislator aiming to take his job, brought his campaign to San Francisco, where he held a sparsely attended but spirited rally at Crissy Field.
About 100 people including several who said they hadn’t heard of the Republican Assembly member from Rocklin (Placer County) attended the rally. Kiley spoke from a small stage with the fog-shrouded Golden Gate Bridge in the background.
