Habitare Homes has been set up by fund management giant to build 3,500 mixed-tenure homes
Fund management giant Man Group has received approval to set up Habitare Housing as a registered for-profit housing association, Housing Today can reveal.
The approval from the Regulator of Social Housing is part of an ambitious housebuilding expansion by the fund manager and follows this month’s announcement that it had completed the first part of a £400m fundraising drive.
Man Group’s community housing fund, set up by its global private markets arm, has a brief to invest in 3,500 new mixed-tenure homes.

BELLEVILLE A woman alleges an OBGYN damaged her only functioning ureter during laparoscopic surgery to remove her ovary and fallopian tube.
Zaddie Sharkey filed a complaint March 31 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Dr. Debra Carson and Heartland Women s Healthcare LTD, alleging negligence.
Sharkey alleges in her complaint that she sought care from Carson on June 9, 2020, to address her pelvic pain, which Carson diagnosed as coming from her left ovary and fallopian tube. Carson then recommended Sharkey, who only had one functioning kidney and left ureter for renal function, undergo laparoscopic surgery to remove the ovary and fallopian tube. Sharkey claims that during her laparoscopic surgery, Carson cut and damaged her sole functioning ureter and failed to take steps to ensure the ureter was isolated and protected from harm.
