“It’s spring again…” T-shirt season in the park is here. And this is one helluva park. Austen Sweetin recently released a quick edit from the Brain Bowl Sessions at Mt. Baker (prefaced by a sweet little skate part). “Two days of morning coal pad skate sessions straight into Brain Bowl sessions until the sun went down,” Austen wrote. Skate till the snow softens. These guys are livin’!
The BrainBowlSessions is a cool park build started by the crew at Tre Squad. Sounds like they’ve set up shop all over the PacNW – places like Snoqualmie Pass, Mt. Bachelor and Mt. Hood. Their moto reads thus: “Creating spaces to get radical & make awesome videos including everyone who shows up.” Looks so fun. We’d love to be crackin’ a coldie after a rip through that playground.
‘Real issue with Ryde Skatepark is not vandalism’ says skateboarding group amidst calls to secure 20+ year lease
Ryde Town Council say they have closed the park due to “anti-social behaviour and vandalism”, but the real issue is far from this say skateboarding ambassadors, Wight Trash
On Friday lunchtime Ryde Town Council (RTC) announced that due to “antisocial behaviour” at Ryde Skatepark, the facility would be closed to skateboarders.
The RTC claimed that the park, which has stood behind LA Bowl on Ryde seafront for the last 20 years, had been “vandalised to an extent that it exposes health and safety risks to members of the public”.
OSAKA, Japan (AP) Three-time world champion Nathan Chen won the free skate at the figure skating World Team Trophy on Friday to continue his dominance of two-time Olympic gold medalist Yuzuru Hanyu.
First after the short program, Chen opened with a quadruple flip and landed a quad salchow in the first half of his routine set to a selection of music by Philip Glass.
Winner of the past five U.S. titles, Chen landed two more quadruple toeloops as part of combination jumps to score 203.24 points.
Hanyu, who was second after the short program, opened with a quad loop but could only manage a single salchow instead of a planned quad salchow on his second jump. He added two quad toeloops later in his program and finished with 193.76 points.
