Riz Ahmed proposed to his wife with a game of Scrabble.
The âSound of Metalâ star revealed in January he had recently tied the knot with Fatima Farheen Mirza, and has now opened up on the sweet way he asked the beauty to marry him.
Riz said Fatima originally thought he was âjokingâ when he used the tiles in the word-based board game Scrabble to spell out âwill you marry meâ.

Speaking during an appearance on âJimmy Kimmel Live!â, he said: We went out to the park, one of the few things we could do at that point in lockdown, and we kind of had a little picnic and you know, I popped the question. And she looked up and was like, You re joking.

Owen Simon, a longtime PR executive for Westinghouse and Group W Productions, died April 2 in Los Angeles. He was 93.
Simon was known for his savvy promotional campaigns on behalf of such series as “The Mike Douglas Show” and “The Merv Griffin Show” and other productions from Westinghouse’s Group W Prods. syndication division. Simon was also well-loved in the industry for his kindness and wit.
When Simon retired in 1997 after a 40-year career, he told
Variety he was looking forward to spending more time with his grandchildren. “With five grandsons, it seems time to start getting them in shape as a basketball team,” he quipped.

Scrabble associations across the world are now compiling a new list of over 400 words that are to be barred from use in the game. The game’s makers say they will be outlawing “offensive” or “disparaging” terms. So far, it is rumored that the list will include farting , “goolies , “arse”, “fatso”, “boffing” and “wrinklies . But the changes to the game have angered professional Scrabble players, saying its ruining their game! International games giant, Mattel made changes to reflect a more modern attitude.

It looks like Scrabble is about to get a little more boring. According to a recent report, Mattel is about to get rid of certain “offensive” words from the UK version of the game, with plans to expand it worldwide in the future.
According to “The Scottish Sun” the in-progress list of soon-to-be scrubbed words reaches about 400, and includes such fun words as “boobies,” “arses,” “wrinklies,” “boffing,” “farting” and “fatso.”
“In Scrabble as in life the words we choose matter,” a Mattel exec insisted, with Brett Smitheram, a rep for the Association of British Scrabble Players, confirming to The “New York Post” that words are “being compiled for deletion.”
