Melbourne United coach Dean Vickerman has set the scene for Fridayâs grand final opener against Perth by cheekily declaring the series is fair game because âWeâve got one import eachâ.
United have landed in the west for the opening two games of the five-match series having been on the road for more than three weeks.
Vickermanâs tongue-in-cheek dig comes as the Wildcats will play without star guard Bryce Cotton, who was ruled out for the season after suffering a haematoma to his left quadriceps.
Sth East Melbourne v Melbourne United - NBL Semi-Final Series: Game 2

Melbourne head coach Dean Vickerman has teed off on the officials after United dropped Game 2 of their semi-final series with South East Melbourne Phoenix.
The 90-79 win for South East Melbourne saw a combined 56 fouls called and 68 free throws attempted, well up from 40 and 32 just two nights earlier in Game 1.
âWe knew leading into this game (the Phoenix) were going to put their head down and attack. To me, that turned into something ridiculous. Whoâs going to be better at creating contact and running into people and getting to the foul line,â Vickerman fumed.
