375 children treated for measles by MSF in Chaman District Headquarters Hospital Format Chaman, Balochistan: Supporting Department of Health to respond to an outbreak, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is running a 30-bed isolation ward for treatment of the measles patients in the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital in Chaman, District Qilla Abdullah. MSF is fully managing the isolation ward through medical staff, medicines, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), water and power supply, sanitization and health education. Since 1st week of January when MSF opened the isolation ward, a total of 125 patients have been treated successfully and 250 patients sent home on oral medications. MSF has also vaccinated 756 children for measles since then.

It handed over the emergency room in March 2020 and the newborn unit in August 2020. The handover process is fully complete in January 2021 after MSF hands over the maternal and child health unit and support services, such as, laundry, blood bank, sterilization, and the waste management and energy zones.

MSF hands over Maternal and Child Health Unit in Timergara DHQ Hospital to Department of Health Format Timergara: Today, after 11 years of medical services, Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has handed over the maternal and child health unit (MCH) to the Department of Health, the last of its activities in Timergara District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital, Lower Dir. MSF announced gradually handing over the responsibility of various departments in November 2019, with a steering committee comprised of representatives of MSF, local authorities and the Department of Health managing the process. MSF handed over the emergency room in March 2020 and the newborn unit in August 2020. The handover process will be fully complete on 31 January 2021 after MSF hands over the support services, such as, the laundry, blood bank, sterilization, and the waste management and energy zones.
