New Survey Company Nicola Offshore Opens for Business - 16/03/2021
Nicola Offshore, a new company specializing in turnkey services for the most challenging marine survey campaigns and on-demand missions in and around Europe started operations from its headquarters in Hamburg this month.
Working from an agile logistics and technology platform, Nicola Offshore was established to service the more complex and specialist aspects of marine surveying, including underwater object detection, unexploded ordinance (UXO), and subsea cable investigations, as well as pre- and post-dredging reports.
The company is a joint venture between Nicola Engineering, a German marine survey provider with over 40 years of experience, and ProMarine, a well-known and highly regarded Dutch workboat manufacturer.

Subsea Europe Services (Hamburg, Germany) and Cyprus Subsea Consulting and Services (Nicosia, Cyprus) have entered into a new strategic cooperation to share knowledge and services that will simplify the acquisition of high-quality marine data for clients across Europe.
The agreement, which was signed on 1 January 2021, is the foundation for matching the extensive autonomous and long-term water column survey experience of Cyprus Subsea and Subsea Europe Services seafloor surveying expertise to provide a harmonized hydrography and oceanography portfolio from a single, Europe-wide source. Additionally, both companies will share knowledge on the continuing development of autonomous solutions for marine surveying, which will help to bring high-quality marine data to more companies and organizations.

Cyprus Subsea, a leader in consulting services in seagoing and survey experience, entered into a strategic cooperation with Subsea Europe Services GmbH, the company announced on its official website. Cyprus Subsea matches its extensive autonomous and long-term water column survey experience with Subsea Europe Services’ seafloor surveying experience to provide a harmonized Hydrography and Oceanography portfolio.
“We recently decided to invest in increasing capacity for seafloor surveying and recognized that the complexity of hydrographic survey equipment combined with a lack of accessible expertise are holding back many organizations from collecting the data they need. In the same way, our autonomous platforms help users get data painlessly, working with Subsea Europe will solve these problems,” said Dr Daniel Hayes, Cyprus Subsea Managing Director.
