The Marshall County Health Department will resume clinics and programs this month, including three that will start on Monday.
These clinics have not been available since March 20, 2020, the result of COVID-19.
Administrator Tom Cook said that some employees had provided services by appointments at the health department, while others had been in matters dealing with restaurants.
All of the clinics and programs which will be back in service will be held at the health department at 513 Sixth St. in Moundsville.
Some of the clinics will need appointments, the phone number of the health department telephone number is 304-845-7840.

The Moundsville Economic Development Council has made available such a tour without leaving your home or business. The new tour is the result of the MEDC purchasing equipment necessary for virtual tours.
Those wishing to take advantage of such a tour will need a Facebook account.
Person interested can contact the MEDC at 304-845-6200 to purchase a card which will be needed in order to make contact with the tour.
Those on the “tour” will be able to ask questions from a tour guide.

MARSHALL COUNTY – Two local band programs were recognized for their achievements in the classroom, with John Marshall High School and Sherrard Middle School’s bands being awarded an award for their academic achievement.
The Marching Monarchs and the Sherrard Middle School Band were awarded the annual WVSSAC / Farmers & Mechanics Insurance Academic Achievement Award by the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission. In the 2019-2020 school year, the JM Band, under the direction of Tracey Filben, was 3.8. The Sherrard Middle School Band, led by Jason Birch, had an overall GPA of 3.878. Sherrard has earned the award twice in the past four years.

MOUNDSVILLE –Â The Marshall County School District returned from the holiday break with several projects done or nearing completion, but a larger overhaul to Washington Lands Elementary is just getting started.
Facilities Director Michael Price spoke at Tuesday evening’s Board of Education meeting, held at the Washington Lands school, which provided a backdrop to his comments regarding improvements the school would be undertaking. Wielding a large schematic of the school, Price detailed security improvements the school would be receiving, including the removal of numerous exterior doors, one of which was in the room that held Tuesday’s board meeting.
