Glenn “Tapat” Norito Watanabe was born in Paia, Maui on September 7, 1948, and raised in Puunene, Maui. Glenn passed away peacefully on April 9, 2021, in Kahului, Maui.
Glenn was an avid sports fan, from following professional leagues to supporting our local teams. More so, he loved to talk story and his day job was to get you to smile or better, laugh. Above all, he was a caring friend to his loved ones and every-one he met.
Glenn worked at the Sheraton Maui, starting as a night auditor, and retiring as a PBX operator in 2011 with 33 years of service. He enjoyed his work but really excelled in interacting with guests and being personable with co-workers. He received recognition for the excellence in his work as well as appreciation from guests from around the world for his “Aloha Spir-it”.
