Under the slogan “Best GCC Environmental Practices”
Dubai, 24 June 2021: Dubai Municipality organized a virtual seminar under the slogan, “Best GCC Environmental Practices,” as part of its activities to celebrate the GCC Environment Day, in the context of the Gulf countries interest in the environment and awareness programs aimed at enhancing the protection of the local environment and natural resources, in addition to seeing what is new, distinctive and that serves the environmental sectors of other departments.
The symposium witnessed the participation of many authorities at the local and GCC levels to learn about the best practices and innovations through which to preserve the environment and reach to the world.
Dubai Health Authority s webinar highlights health benefits of reading
DUBAI, 8th March, 2018 (WAM) The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) today organised a virtual seminar on The Role of Reading to Serve the Scientific Research and Scholars for the future , with the participation of a group of representatives from universities in the UAE, as part of the Month of Reading , which takes place in the UAE in March every year.
The webinar was moderated by Dr. Wafa Al Nakhi, a researcher at DHA’s Data Analysis Research and Studies Department and Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Science.
Dubai: A series of virtual forums was launched by Dubai Health Authority (DHA) this week, in line with the UAE’s Innovation Month (UAE Innovates 2021).
Awadh Al Ketbi, the DHA Director-General, emphasised on the importance of fostering and promoting a culture of innovation, particularly in the health sector. He added: “Leveraging focus on research, new technologies, innovation and data analytics has a huge potential to advance health care to benefit both health-care providers and patients.”
He noted the DHA will continue to focus on health-care innovation to further advance the health sector and provide patient-centred care. Senior DHA officials, including Dr Alawi Alsheikh Ali, Deputy Director-General, and Dr Mohammed Al Redha, Director of Project Management Office, Informatics and Smart Health, attended the virtual forum.

Medical and scientific research studies in eight areas benefitting mankind have been given a further boost with the announcement on Tuesday of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (Award) Dhs2.5 million funding to 15 research projects in the UAE.
Award executive director Abdullah Bin Souqat expressed his gratitude to UAE Minister of Finance, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Award Patron, Shiekh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his continuous support to scientists.
The Award which has so far financially-assisted 700 research works including the 15 for 2021, was established on April 10, 1999 through Supreme Decree No. 5 by the then UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the late Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to honour scientists from around the world who promote and pursue medical/scientific works for the improvement of the qual
