When Sharonda Harris-Bunton opened Vegans Are Us in downtown Vineland it was never her intention to stop at just one restaurant. My goal is to be throughout the United States and even go international, said Harris-Bunton, a 44-year-old Pittsgrove Township resident. My vision is so big. I write it down, I see it and I believe it.
Harris-Bunton is ready to take the next step in growing her brand.
By May, she plans to open her second eatery next to Starbucks at the Tanger FacOutlets Center in Atlantic City. It s a move that has been in the works for about six months.
The Gentle Giant Café, Pitman
Dawn Lucas brought the vegan café to Gloucester County more than a year ago.
The Paulsboro native and Washington Township resident says her café is “the only 100 percent vegan café in Gloucester County.”
They also support animal rescues and sanctuaries on a monthly basis, she added.
Lucas, the owner/operator, said the café will celebrate its two-year anniversary in May.
She said some of their most popular dishes are Beyond Burgers, various rice dishes and BBQ jackfruit. They have plenty of breakfast and brunch offerings, including breakfast “sammies” and a customer favorite, a loxless bagel.
