Mexican national arrested for trying to smuggle 19 migrants from El Paso to Dallas

ALBANY, Texas Authorities have charged a Mexican national with trying to smuggle a group of 19 migrants from El Paso to Dallas in a pickup truck.
The Shackelford County Sheriff s Office said Albany police pulled over 34-year-old Francisco Alfredo Lopez-Cubillas in his truck on suspicion of drunk driving.
During the traffic stop on Monday, authorities said they found five people in the cab and 14 others hiding under a truck bed cover.
The migrants ranged in ages from 17 to 60, and officials said they were from the nations of Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Ecuador and Honduras.
Sheriff: Human Trafficking Victims Packed in Truck Bed
ALBANY, TX – Over the weekend the Shackelford County Sheriff s Office arrested a suspect on 19 charges of human trafficking near Albany.
According to Sheriff Ed Miller, he has never had to deal with a human trafficking case of this caliber.
According to Miller, 14 of the 19 victims were crammed in the bed of the truck. Officers found blankets and empty food cans. The other five were located in the front of the truck.
Victims Packed Back of F-150 That long on the road locked in a bed of a pickup is very dehumanizing, said Miller. With no way to move, no way to run, and no way to get fresh air and the exhaust fumes.
All 20 people, including the driver, were undocumented immigrants from Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala, Honduras and Ecuador.

ALBANY, Texas A Mexican national was arrested after a traffic stop in Albany Sunday. Nineteen undocumented immigrants being smuggled were found in his vehicle.
According to the Shackelford County Sheriff s Office, after a vehicle was reported to dispatch for driving erratically and possibly having a drunk driver, a suspect was found with the 19 people during a traffic stop in Albany.
The vehicle description, a white Ford F150, was broadcast to all officers on duty in attempt to find it prior to the stop. City of Albany Police Officer Purpura saw the suspect vehicle traveling east on Main Street, at which time the traffic stop was initiated.
