Newberg winery welcomes rare lambs to farm
Arlyn Vineyards becomes the first place to see Valais Blacknose sheep on the continent
Scrambling around the hills of Newberg, a trio of lambs that exist nowhere else on the continent are enjoying life in Willamette Valley wine country. The rare Valais Blacknose sheep were born through surrogates at Arlyn Vineyards, the first such birth on United States soil of a highly sought after and undeniably adorable breed.
Their black and white patterned appearance is unique and the breed hails originally from the rolling hills of Switzerland. Acquiring them proved a challenge for Arlyn Vineyards.
