Pamela Sue Buchanan, age 70, passed away on January 20, 2021 unexpectedly at home.
She was born on December 17, 1950 to parents Robert and Suzanne (Rowley) Thomas in Madison, WI. Pam graduated from Waunakee High School in 1969 and went on to attend St. Mary’s School of Nursing. Her life’s work was nursing. It started as a nurse’s aid transitioning to a registered nurse in Baraboo, WI and retiring after a 37-year career as a UW Operating Room nurse. Her career expanded across all services but especially Plastics and General surgery. Pam possessed the ambition and grit to perform many managerial roles in the department she loved. Her passion in this work led to a Mission trip in Ecuador helping children with facial deformities obtain normal appearance and cultural acceptance. Her call to nursing always had the patient at the center of her focus. Pam paid attention to every detail for each and every patient she cared

The Spring 2021 UB Volleyball season begins on Friday. A year ago, the Bulls won 7 of their last 10 matches, and defeated many of the top teams in the MAC, to earn the #7 seed in the MAC Tournament. They went on to win a match in the MAC Tournament “round of 8”, for the first time in program history.
But, five seniors from that team, all of whom saw regular playing time, have graduated, leaving huge holes to fill in the offense. The good news is that most players return who contributed large parts to the defense, and the incoming class received an Honorable Mention award from PrepVolleyball.com.

“It’s incredibly challenging,” Borowski said.
Although teachers are in the classroom at Waunakee High school, their students aren’t. The school is operating almost completely online, with students only coming in for activities that can’t be done remotely.
“It’s not easy to recreate everything that schools have done for the past 100 years, right?” Borowski said. “It’s all been refined.”
Borowski said administration found that students do best when they know what their day looks like, which is why they’re trying to keep to a traditional schedule. For Waunakee, that’s a block schedule.
“We have rotating blocks, four classes one day and then four classes the next,” Borowski said.
