Company that acquired Morris Broadband looking to expand service in Henderson County
The company that recently acquired local internet service provider Morris Broadband is looking to expand access in Henderson County.
Tony Carter, general manager for Morris Broadband, said that since the acquisition by Altice USA, the company has started “an aggressive plan to expand broadband throughout the county.” He provided the update Wednesday to the Henderson County Board of Commissioners.
He mentioned Crab Creek, Hoopers Creek, Tuxedo, Edneyville and parts of Mills River as current targets for expansion.
Altice has brought in a team of 15 individuals to go through the county and map out which parts do not have good service, he explained.

NORFOLK, Va. - Norfolk Police is investigating a shooting that left one man injured early Wednesday morning.
Officials say around 1:00 a.m. police responded to the 800 block of Whitaker Lane after a report that someone was shot. A man was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police say the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
