The Bay area s Pier2Pier swim back for 2021 The Isle of Wight s 69th Pier2Pier swim will be back for 2021, on Saturday, August 7. Organised by the Isle of Wight Marlins swimming club, 2020 s had to be cancelled, due to Covid-19 pandemic. 2021 will see 150 swimmers taking part, including 50 from the Isle of Wight. Starting at midday, at Sandown Pier, competitors will swim 1.8 miles of the Bay, finishing outside Shanklin and Sandown Rowing Club. The Isle of Wight Kayak Club also helps keep participants safe. Bob Cooper, referee and safety officer said: “After the disappointment of last year’s cancellation, it was pleasing that so many of the entrants were happy to hold over to this year.

Isle Of Wight s Pier2Pier Swim Returns For 2021

The Isle of Wight s Pier2Pier swim is returning in August, it s been announced.
Organisers IOW Marlins Masters Swim Club were forced to cancel last year s event due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Entries have been rolled over to this year, however, with the swim set to take place on Saturday August 7, 2021.
A total of 150 swimmers have signed up – 50 are Island-based swimmers, while 100 are coming over from the mainland.
