Westmoreland music students celebrate holidays by creating Christmas album

WESTMORELAND, N.Y. – Music students at Westmoreland Junior/Senior High School haven’t been able to perform in person due to the coronavirus pandemic, but two music teachers found a creative way to feature the students by recording a holiday album.
‘Christmas Together’ is a collection of 10 holiday songs performed by students in the Select Choir, Broadway Voices, Saxophone Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and Brass Ensemble.

Many school districts have faced staffing shortages due to positive Covid-19 cases and mandatory quarantines.
Onondaga County
Skaneateles School District: Students in grades 8 to 12 will be remote until Jan. 4. Kindergarten students will learn remote until Dec. 14 while grades 1 to 7 will be remote until Dec. 14.
Jordan-Elbridge Central School District: The district announced Sunday that it will go fully remote from Dec. 14 to 23. The district will reopen to in-person instruction after winter break on Jan. 4.
