One of the five whimsical sculptures recently donated to the Weston Historical Society by the Daniel E. Offutt, III Charitable Trust for the new Daniel E. Offutt, III Sculpture Garden at the Coley Homestead, 104 Weston Road. The sculptures were created by the late Daniel E. Offutt, III at his Weston studio and were displayed at his former home on Kettle Creek Road in Weston. The public is invited to view the Daniel E. Offutt, III Sculpture Garden. WESTON The Coley Homestead and the Weston Historical Society’s exhibits will get an update thanks to two major gifts from the Daniel E. Offutt, III Charitable Trust totaling $1.5 million.
The gifts from the trust include a $500,000 grant and a $1 million grant to the endowment fund, both of which will be used for restorations and planning the society’s future.
“The grant of $500,000 will specifically and exclusively be used to repair and renovate the Coley barn, carriage house, archives/museum building, and bunkhouse,” said Leigh Meccay, president of the Weston Historical Society. “It also allows us to update our exhibits in the Coley Barn, as well as expand our public programming as we
