Luke Letlow defeated state Rep. Lance Harris in Saturdayâs run-off election to represent the 5th District of Louisiana in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Letlow, a Republican who previously served as U.S. Rep. Ralph Abrahamâs chief of staff, received 62 percent of the vote, or 49,182 votes, according to the Secretary of Stateâs unofficial results published Saturday night. Harris, who is a Republican from Alexandria, received 38 percent of the vote, or 30,124 votes.
Abraham decided earlier this year not to seek re-election, opening up the vacancy in the House.
The Secretary of State estimated voter turnout reached 15 percent.

I meant to get to this yesterday but got sidetracked. In a year defined by relentless weirdness, behold one of the low-key weirdest moments of all so weird, in fact, that some outraged MAGA fans insisted that it couldn’t be real. It must be a photoshop.
It isn’t, of course. It’s the real deal. But who can blame them in this case for being so incredulous about what they were seeing that a conspiracy theory seemed like the most plausible explanation?
