The Great British Treat House brings jolly good sweets to local farmers' markets

The Great British Treat House brings jolly good sweets to local farmers markets Market Basket South Bend Tribune For the past couple of weeks, David White has seen long lines outside his booth at the South Bend Farmer’s Market. Part of that is due to customers lining up to get their fill of sweet British treats, but others stay for the long conversations. And that’s what White prefers. “You go to Meijer and other grocery stores and it’s sterile, but then you go to market, and you get to talk and I like to talk,” White laughed. “My girls come and start kicking me to get on with it. So I thought about having two lines, one if you like talking and two if you don’t, where it’s a quick sale.”

New Welsh snacks pop up with iconic treats from Snowdonia

IT IS an all-American classic with a couple of Welsh twists. Jones Popcorn, a newly launched range of snacks being sold by the growing Bwydydd Madryn food company based in Pwllheli, feature the tastes of Halen Môn sea salt from the coastline of Anglesey and Blodyn Aur (Golden Flower) rapeseed oil from hills above Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr in Conwy. The company, which recently opened a new warehouse to cope with burgeoning demand for its treats, also producing iconic Welsh treats like individual slices of Bara Brith fruit loaf and twin packs of Welsh Cakes made in the Snowdonia village of Llanllechid, along with Jones Chocolate from Bala.
