Ted Lucas, the founder and CEO of Slip-N-Slide Records is getting into crypto with Peanut Butter Jelly Time NFT drop.
A dancing banana thrown over “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” by the Buckwheat Boyz, was one of the early examples of going viral. The Flash animation spread like wildfire and went mainstream, appearing in everything from episodes of The Family Guy to being referenced by WWE Divas.
“I license this record probably three times a year,” says Lucas. Now, the meme will be a part of the growing NFT craze.
Two remixed versions of the NFT will also go on sale, including one that will see the famous banana relegated to a boat while a smiling orange the signature work of Miami graffiti artist Atomik takes center stage.

The “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” meme is an animation of a banana dancing to the song and is being auctioned off as a NFT as the market grows in popularity.
The NFT will be put up for auction next week by Slip N Slide Records, as it features the dancing banana animation with the label’s Raylo & Dem Damn Dogs version of the “Peanut Butter Jelly Time” song.
The meme became an internet hit after its release in 2002, spawning dances, mashups and even a feature on an episode of Family Guy.
Two remixed versions of the NFT will also go on sale, including one that will see the famous banana relegated to a boat while a smiling orange the signature work of Miami graffiti artist Atomik takes center stage.
