Pandemic brings new focus for Fish Creek s Interfibers Studio Gallery

There are many harrowing stories related to the sudden shutdowns caused by the pandemic, and Wendy Carpenter, owner of Interfibers Studio Gallery in Fish Creek, certainly has a story to tell.
For the past 15 years, she spent three months every winter with the Mayan weavers of Guatemala teaching them to design and sew contemporary apparel with their handwoven Jaspe fabric. Another part of her work was a collaborative effort with lapidary craftsmen of Guatemala.
The craftsmen hand-cut and polished Jadeite stones; those stones were used to make beautiful necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
