In Unforgivable, Mel Giedroyc’s been saddled a format that she doesn’t even have much confidence in, the needlessly complex negative scoring, unnecessary gong, and convoluted rounds becoming a running joke even from episode one.
But ignore all that hoo-ha and this is essentially a chat show stripped back to the good bits. Guests can forget plugging the latest project or telling us what a delight their co-stars were. Just tell the entertaining and embarrassing stories from your past.
For that reason, Graham Norton is ideal invitee to get the ball rolling. With the usual dynamic reversed, he can open up about the time in childhood he went through a medical operation just to save face, or the time he was unprofessional when working at a restaurant. Expect pre-fame stories of service industry misdeeds to be a running theme over the eight episodes, as Giedroyc quickly tops his tale. Food artist and cake designer Michelle Wibowo has created a gingerbread house inspired by the Christmas film Home Alone.
The edible home includes miniature versions of eight-year-old protagonist Kevin McCallister, as well as burglars Harry and Marv.
At 1.7m long and 1.25m wide, the gingerbread house took over 300 hours to make. The creation includes 63 trees, 33 windows, 14 pizza boxes and six lamp posts.
Disney+ commissioned the Wibowo to recreate the famous set, marking the film’s 30
th anniversary.
She began by studying the architecture and exterior of the McCallister family home in the suburbs of Chicago. She then sketched designs of its features, before baking the gingerbread and modelling the house, including fans’ favourite moments.

STUDIO CITY From December 18 to December 20, a “Home Alone”-inspired pop up pizzeria: Little Nero’s Pizza will open in Studio City. The collaboration between CVT Soft Serve, Sean from LBK Pizza in Studio City, and artist Jesse Wilson helped to establish the pop-up located at 4359 Tujunga Ave.
On CVT Soft Serve’s Instagram, they wrote, “This FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY ONLY, you can step into 1990 suburban Chicago without having to deal with the negative 15 degree windchill. Come grab a pizza in a beautiful souvenir box that you don’t have to share with your douchebag older brother…That guy sucks! If you’re taking a picture of our delivery car, please be careful cause our driver has been known to hit shit. Most importantly (aside from staying six feet apart) is to keep an eye out for booby traps. This is our pizzeria, we have to defend it!”
