Read Article Ronald Adams ANDOVER – Ronald Adams, 85, of Andover passed away peacefully on Saturday May 22, 2021, at home surrounded by the presence and love of his family. Ron was born in Quincy, Mass., on June 29, 1935. At 17 he joined the Navy and was a U.S. Navy Seaman First Class, he had to cut his Navy career short to care for his mother and two younger brothers while his older brother went to Korea. He began working for Boston Edison Power Company at 18 as a station cleaner. During his career there he attended school at Peterson School of Steam Engineering, Northeastern University and Wisconsin State University and became a First-Class Engineer. He continued education through Rutgers and Bentley University for management development. ....

John Baldwin, a professor of percussion, founder and director of Boise State’s Percussion Ensemble, chose space to accommodate lots of instruments. At the moment, his office holds a marimba – his favorite instrument – and two snare drums. That’s a modest collection compared to what it’s held in the past. He’s been cleaning out. ....
Wannie M. Johnson, of Park Rapids, MN, passed peacefully on March 5, 2021 in Riverside, CA. Wannie was born in Woodville, WI on March 30, 1931. She grew up in River Falls, WI and graduated from River Falls High School in 1948. She married Dean Robert Johnson on November 19, 1952 in Pasadena, CA. Wannie graduated from Wisconsin State University - River Falls in 1955 with an Elementary Education degree and later earned her Master’s Degree in Southern CA. She was a dedicated kindergarten teacher for 32 years in San Bernardino, CA. Dean and Wannie’s greatest joy was to build a home on Little Sand Lake in 1967. They spent many summers traveling back and forth between San Bernardino, CA and Park Rapids, MN while they were still teaching. They retired to Park Rapids in 1987 and enjoyed golfing, fishing, entertaining family and friends, and traveling extensively. They spent winters south in many places, but liked living in Canyon Lake, TX in later years. After Dean passed in ....
Rossman Awarded Roebling Medal February 04, 2021 George Rossman (PhD 71), professor of mineralogy, has been awarded the 2021 Roebling Medal by the Mineralogical Society of America (MSA). The Roebling Medal is the MSA s highest award, recognizing scientific eminence as represented primarily by scientific publication of outstanding original research in mineralogy. Rossman will be named a Life Fellow of the society and will receive a medal designed by sculptor Avard T. Fairbanks and struck by the Medallic Art Co., which also mints the Pulitzer Prize and the Congressional Medal of Honor. Rossman earned a bachelor s degree at Wisconsin State University in 1966, followed by a PhD at Caltech in 1971. He started as an instructor and then assistant professor at Caltech that year, earning tenure at Caltech in 1983. ST. PAUL â Minnesota State Senator David Tomassoni on Monday introduced a resolution at the state senate to declare Feb. 3, 2021, as Bill Loushine Day in Chisholm in honor of Loushineâs 100th birthday. Tomassoni, who represents District 6, along with Sen. Paul Gazelka, Chair of the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, and Secretary of State Cal Ludeman, signed the resolution. In the resolution Tomassoni shares information on Loushine, including his personal life and his commitment to his country. âBill was married to his wife, Rita in 1946 and together they raised five boys (Bill, Tom, Bob, Chucky and Rick),â it states in the resolution. ....
