County governments are in need of such people pretty much everywhere.
Our Democracy is made possible by the “thousands of regular citizens who serve as poll workers,” Maria Boileau, Clinton County’s voter registrar, recently reminded us all. “These are the people who do the important work of checking in voters at polling places and setting them up at voting machines.”
Further, she said, “We depend on these workers to run fair and secure elections.”
We could not agree more.
And we urge every citizen who cares about our Democracy to help at the polls come this May 18.
Step up now, please.

The Brockerhoff House in Bellefonte will receive a historic âtablet.â The building has been a part of Bellefonte since the 1800s. Once a hotel, it is a residential facility today.
BELLEFONTE Bellefonte is host to a variety of historic sites. On Tuesday, the Centre County commissioners announced that one site will be getting a special designation.
The Brockerhoff House, located at 105 S. Allegheny St. in Bellefonte, will receive a historic “tablet” commemorating the location. The cost of the tablet will be a mere $280, which will be funded by the county.
