Tyler Strafaci, a 2020 graduate of the Institute begins competition in the biennial competition with his team Saturday at the legendary golf club just a few miles from his hometown of Davie, Fla.

th Georgia Tech alumnus or student-athlete to compete in the Walker Cup, the 22-year-old Strafaci earned his spot on the U.S. team after winning the U.S. Amateur Championship last August in Bandon, Ore., becoming the fourth Yellow Jacket player to win the national title and second in a row.

A man took his expensive watch into a trusted jewelry store for repairs and never saw it again. That store is now closed. The customer says the watch is irreplaceable, and they are out thousands of dollars.
William Holcomb says he brought his special wedding anniversary gift a Rolex watch in for a repair last year.
Holcomb and his wife trusted a Paul Schmitt Jewelers to fix it in downtown Naples, a jewelry store that had been in the city for more than 40 years.

LA QUINTA, Calif. – Late in a closely contested U.S. Amateur semifinal match two years ago, John Augenstein faced a delicate, short-sided chip at Pinehurst No. 2, a course known for its slick, confounding greens.
Augenstein’s opponent, William Holcomb V, had just executed an “extraordinary chip” to gimme range.
Augenstein was 2 up with four holes to play. Exemptions into the Masters and U.S. Open were on the line.
“John hits this nipping, spinning chip that is just going fast, and checks, and is then rolling like a putt,” recalled William Kane, Augenstein’s close friend who caddied that week. “It lips out, he ends up halving the hole and then winning the match.
