The A-Team has signed off after 30 years of flying at treetop level along the Bay and its tributaries, counting nesting eagles and their chicks. The three-man team based at William & Mary’s Center for Conservation Biology completed its last flight on April 17, counting chicks in nests up the Chickahominy River. (WWBT) - The purchase of a nearly 40-acre piece of land in Henricoâs east end has resulted in the discovery of several pieces of artifacts dating back to prehistoric Native American activity to the early 20th Century including an unmarked African-American cemetery. In March 2020, the Capital Region Land Conservancy purchased the piece of land off Long Bridge Road in Varina through funding from the National Park Service. It was purchased to help connect and protect the property to an overall 6,000-acre area related to American and Virginia battlefields. ....
