ARRESTS, CITATIONS
• Steven D. Tucker, 30, homeless, was arrested at 9:37 p.m. Friday on a retail theft charge after being accused of taking two packages of crackers, together valued at $1.58, from Casey’s at 525 E. Morton Ave. He also was charged with burglary because of a report an hour earlier about a man going into a garage in the 800 block of Routt Street and trying to get into a car that was inside before being chased away by a resident. He also was arrested on an outstanding failure-to-appear warrant.
ACCIDENTS
• Corey W. Karr, 21, of Jacksonville was cited on a charge of failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident after the truck he was driving went out of control in the 300 block of West College Avenue at 4:57 p.m. Monday, jumped the curb, struck a tree and then hit the side of a building, which caused a window to break. Damage was estimated at $4,300.

The Highway Patrol reports 60 year old Larry Steffen of Quincy was westbound, lost control on the snow covered roadway, crossed the center line and struck an eastbound car, driven by 30 year old Travis Anderson of Mexico.
Anderson was taken to Northeast Regional Hospital in Kirksville and Steffen was taken to University Hospital in Columbia, both for treatment of serious injuries.
A passenger in the Steffen car, 66 year old William Reynolds of Edina, was taken to Northeast Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
Two Clarence teenagers are hurt in a single vehicle crash on Shelby County Road 450 northwest of Shelbina at 5:10 p.m. Sunday.
