A CCTV camera that caught Matt Hancock kissing an aide in his office was installed to monitor a balcony and should have been pointing in the opposite direction, it has emerged.
Documents seen by The Telegraph state that a review of security by Scotland Yard proposed a CCTV camera with a limited field of vision to ensure privacy.
A Whitehall investigation is currently trying to establish why the camera in Mr Hancock s former office was pointed inwards at a door linking it to an ante room where aides worked.
