9. I’d love to see the Jets and Oilers in the 1
st Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. These 2 never seem to disappoint. Even though the Oilers won the season series 5-2 all 7 tilts were entertaining. I enjoy watching the Jets and have respect for them. And besides, doesn’t Edmonton’s road to the cup always go through Winnipeg?

It really is a blast following the ups and downs of the Montreal Canadiens and always has been. There’s no better entertainment around. But fun as it is, it can be a frustrating and downright perplexing world to live in.
For example, the National Hockey League trade deadline passed and our Habs were mostly inactive in terms of significant deals, but there are two competing storylines among fans and some in the media, and neither makes any sense.

Unfortunately, there’s not much time for practice during this condensed 56-game NHL season, but the Canadiens can’t afford to keep losing points in overtime and shootouts.
The Canadiens lost 2-1 to the Canucks in a shootout Monday night in Vancouver and are now 0-4 in overtime and 0-3 in shootouts this season. That’s seven lost points as the Canadiens’ record fell to 11-6-7 and they remain in fourth place in the all-Canadian North Division.

When Jesperi Kotkaniemi showed up for his post-game video conference Saturday night at the Bell Centre he was wearing a hooded Canadiens jacket and a mask because of COVID-19.
When he took off the mask, he had a huge smile on his face.

Kotkaniemi had reason to smile after picking up an assist and finishing plus-2 in 13:59 of ice time, while also winning 13 of the 15 faceoffs he took in the Canadiens’ 7-1 rout over the Winnipeg Jets.
