Intermittent Fasting: Foods to Consume and Limit
Intermittent fasting involves cycling between periods of eating and fasting.
Proponents say intermittent fasting is a safe and effective way to lose weight and improve your health. They claim it s easier to adhere to than other diets and offers more flexibility than traditional calorie-restricted diets. Intermittent fasting is a means of reducing calories by restricting one s intake for several days each week, and then eating regularly the rest of the days, rather than focusing on permanent caloric restriction, says Lisa Jones, a registered dietitian based in Philadelphia.
It s important to keep in mind that intermittent fasting is a concept, not a specific diet.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â Governor Cuomo announced Monday that mask requirements will be eased for vaccinated people.
The owner of Catalyst Fitness says her business will be on the honor system, when it comes to customers wearing a mask. If you are vaccinated, you don t need to wear one. If you haven t been vaccinated, you do need to wear one. There won t be anyone asking about vaccination status at the door.
Some have reached out to 7 Eyewitness News to ask if that method of running a business is safe. Dr. Nancy Neilsen of the University at Buffalo says, yes.

BUFFALO, N.Y. Even as Gov. Andrew Cuomo proclaimed he was opening up New York State much more as of May 19 with the state lifting capacity limits for businesses like retail stores, restaurants, gyms, salons, places of worship and more, some business owners pointed out it really has relatively little impact because of the state maintaining 6 foot social distancing guidelines as per the CDC.
2 On Your Side checked on how this would filter down to businesses like gyms, which were especially hard hit in the pandemic.
Owners of fitness facilities across the area hope a judge s ruling in favor of an Orchard Park gym will lead to relaxed restrictions for them, too.
In an oral ruling Wednesday, State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek granted a preliminary injunction allowing Athletes Unleashed on California Road to reopen at full capacity, despite orders from Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo limiting gyms in âorange zonesâ to 25% capacity.
Wojtaszekâs ruling affects only Athletes Unleashed, which went to court to fight the stateâs Covid-19 safety precautions.
The lawsuit was denounced by Richard Azzopardi, a senior advisor to the governor, as an âargument based on crackpot logic.â
