1,924 COVID-19 cases, 30 deaths in county to date Saturday, March 13, 2021 10:00 AM Iowa State Department of Health s COVID-19 reporting service released the new data of positive caseloads throughout the state. According to the March 13 report, there have been total of 17 positive cases in Winneshiek County in the past seven days. There have been 1,924 positive cases and 30 virus-related deaths in the county since reporting began one year ago in March of 2020. In her regular updates to the Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors, Winneshiek County Public Health Administrator Krista Vanden Brink continues to stress the need for concern regarding the spread of the coronavirus.

County offers COVID-19 vaccine update Friday, January 8, 2021 11:32 AM Following the Emergency Use Authorization of both the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) is partnering with county public health departments to begin vaccinating Iowans. Vaccines are currently being administered in Iowa to the Phase 1A priority populations of health care personnel and long-term care residents and staff. As more vaccines become available, Iowa’s Infectious Disease Advisory Council (IDAC), will review guidance issued by the CDC’s advisory group the Advisory Council on Immunization Practices (ACIP) to further prioritize populations to receive the vaccine in Iowa.
