Researchers from the Wits Faculty of Health Sciences and Wits Health Consortium recently pledged R1m to the Gift of the Givers in support of their aid efforts.
The Gift of the Givers Foundation is the largest non-governmental disaster response organisation on the African continent. Their purpose is to unite people with a common vision, by serving mankind for the greater good. This purpose transcends race, religion, colour, class, political affiliation and geographic location.
Since its inception in 1992, the Gift of the Givers Foundation has been responsible for the delivery of life-saving goods and on-the-ground support for innumerable people across South Africa and the globe.

With WHC providing the core infrastructure, WITS CLINICAL RESEARCH is free to focus on conducting quality research in the fields of cardiology, cardiovascular risk factors (hypertension, smoking cessation, obesity, hypercholesterolemia, and diabetes), endocrinology, rheumatology, oncology, infectious diseases, respiratory, nephrology, gastroenterology, urology, surgery, vaccines, and general medicine.

The Wits Faculty of Health Sciences welcomes its newly appointed Assistant Dean: Teaching, Learning and Undergraduate Affairs.
Associate Professor Lindelani Mnguni recently took over the reigns of the Teaching, Learning and Undergraduate Affairs portfolio in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Mnguni is an expert in the field of health and life sciences education with a special interest in curriculum and instructional design as well as development. His field of mastery is topical in the ongoing discussion around the alignment of curricula of South African higher education institutions to the modern demands of industries and workplaces.
In providing solutions that will address such challenges, Mnguni’s efforts will focus on supporting undergraduate students through extensive consultations to understand their issues in order to develop a teaching and learning strategy that is innovative, relevant and creates opportunities for academic excell
