MARLBOROUGH Raising Cane s Chicken Fingers has more than 530 restaurants in 28 states, as well as in Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
But it has just one in all of New England (in Boston), and the next-closest one is in Norfolk, Virginia.
Now the Baton Rouge, Louisiana-based fast food chain, which is centered on chicken fingers, has pointed to a location in Marlborough where it wants to build its second location in Massachusetts. Raising Cane s is proposing to open at 141 Boston Post Road West (Rte. 20), which is between a McDonald s restaurant and an Embassy Suites hotel.

Martha Wassell, head of infectious disease control at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, said ticks have definitely made an early appearance this year on the Seacoast. I can t say a lot about the numbers of ticks because we do not do tick counts, she said. But they are here, and have been increasing.
Wassell said there are specific reasons for the increase. She said warmer winters, increased humidity and fewer farms are creating favorable conditions for ticks.
