HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Students in grades K-12 across the state can now enroll in Alabama Connections Academy.
It’s a tuition-free, online public school that offers an individualized approach to education. The goal is to give students the tools they need to learn and thrive in the online world.
WAFF spoke to ShaKynah Davis, a 7th grader at the academy who lives in Huntsville. She switched from traditional schooling to the academy in August of 2020 and has been happy with her decision ever since.
This has left many parents potentially struggling to juggle work and home-schooling commitments.
Hiring an online tutor is an option but this can be expensive. According to The Tutor Website, the hourly rate for a tutor can range between £15 and £45.
