SAN ANTONIO – With every dish she makes, Vanessa Sandoval tries to impress her grandmother. Sandoval is one of the owners of Taco Haven Steves Ave., a three-generation-run business on San Antonio’s South Side.
This month, in partnership with Live from the Southside Magazine, Taco Haven Steves Ave. joined SA Live to feature one of its most popular dishes, the “Ralphie Special.”
Southside Book Fair makes history in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO Local authors and other Texas authors will be featured in a first ever book fair specifically for the Southside. The first annual Southside Book Fair is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 16.
“The goal of the book fair is to promote more reading and writing in our Southside community,” April Monterrosa, editor in chief of Live From The Southside Magazine.

The San Antonio Street Art Initiative is a nonprofit charity that supports artists through career development programming and economic development through community beautification projects. Two-thirds of the Board was born and raised on the south side of San Antonio and so it is no surprise that a mural incentive has launched there as part of their mission.
